Happy Nude Year!

By: Marc

2019 is another year to tick on our calendar, to welcome 2020. How is nudism fitting in your year? If you make new year resolutions, do you include nudist ones? I have a very busy year ahead both professionally and personally, and nudism will be an important component of it, looking for more nude time and meeting nudist friends. Here are a few simple ideas to keep nudism front and center in your life and share your love of it, to do in January:

  • Renew your naturist federation membership. Wherever you are, being a member of your naturist federation provides the means to develop and promote nudism and naturist places.
  • Subscribe to naturist magazines, on top of the one your naturist federation may provide with your membership. H&E or N are good examples of such magazines.
  • Plan your next nakation. There are more and more options in a lot of countries across the planet. Pick a spot and book.
  • Set dates on your calendar for naturist events (WNBR, nude runs, naked hikes…).
  • Purchase a couple of naturist books.
  • Subscribe to this blog by filling the form below. Don’t miss a naturist post and idea!

Keeping (or expanding) nudism and naturism in your life is not rocket science and does not require a lot of efforts or money. Like many other things in life, it’s a matter of priorities and, sometimes, planning. Just make the conscious decision that 2020 will be a great nude year!

Please share what you will do differently this year to make 2020 a more nudist year. The more we share, the more we care!

Naturist Thought #92 – Teaching

By: Marc

What can you teach others? If you are a seasoned naturist, you can teach how to become a naturist or tips and tricks to explain to your friends that you are a naturist. I’m always amazed at the amount of things anybody, and I mean anybody, knows and can share.

However, a lot of us are too shy or do not value our knowledge enough to be worth of sharing and teaching. This is plain wrong. Our experiences, skills and lives have taught us so many things, that if we invest a little time in putting those things in order, they can become valuable courses for other to expedite or deepen their learning.

Take a moment to reflect. What do you know well enough that you would be delighted to teach others. Don’t be shy, just do it!

  • How to Cover Nudists the Wrong Way
by Matthew McDermott on 18 December , 2019 at 16:01

A recent article in Australia’s Central News covered a very private nudist location. It’s a great example of how not to cover nudism, as a reporter. Even though it’s a serious, intelligent and well-written piece, it has some significant failures as a piece of journalism. Source

For those who like to dress up, it’s a fun time to put on some crazy costumes. But it’s a bit difficult for nudists, who, well, don’t really like to dress up. Source

  • My First Naked Conversation
by Matthew McDermott on 26 August , 2019 at 14:00

That first trip to a nude beach was relaxing, inspiring, exciting. But I couldn’t just sit on the sand all day. I wanted to see the whole beach… As I reached the water and began to walk, I saw someone: a woman, walking straight down to the water from where she and her male companion were sitting. Source

  • You can start to be a nudist today
by Matthew McDermott on 19 August , 2019 at 14:45

Nudism is a simple preference for one’s own nudity — no more and no less. There is no qualifying amount you must be nude, no particular community you need to be a part of. Nudism isn’t a club. It’s a way of being. Source

Fairies? Yes. Fairies. Why that? Well, it’s that writer brain acting up again. I know, it can be a nuisance, popping up at the most inappropriate times hahaha. But I really thought about them. What are they? From where do they come? And, you probably wonder, what does this have to do with naturism? Nude and Happy

All about Naturism, a Unique Art of Living
  • Why is it called a “nude” beach?
by Christopher Jeremiah on 10 January , 2020 at 20:04

By Christopher Jeremiah It was Halloween 2018.  My friend, Beck, took me to enjoy my first nude beach experience in Pismo, California.  Needless to say, it was a disappointing one.  Nude generally means “no clothes, right?”  Guess not.  I thought I would finally be at a place that I could feel open and free.   Getting

  • Naturist Thought #100 – Dawn
    by Marc on 10 January , 2020 at 15:40

Here we are, the 100th naturist thought. When I started, I planned 100, so even though I had a pause, I wanted to finish those 100 thoughts. I love dawns, probably more than sunsets. Dawns are more quiet and colors are sometimes more intense that sunsets’. Dawns represent the promise of a new day, of

  • Naturist Thought #99 – Practice
    by Marc on 8 January , 2020 at 15:39

Practice makes perfection. You may have heard about the 10,000-hour rule introduced by Malcom Gladwell in his famous book Outliers. So goes naturism I think. The more time you spend naked in naturist setting, the more nudity becomes natural and you’ll soon become an expert naturist. If you grasp every opportunity to get naked, be

  • Naturist Thought #98 – Entitlement
    by Marc on 7 January , 2020 at 15:39

People seem more and more entitled these days, starting with kids. I do not know whether it’s true or not, or just an effect of time, however my feeling is we are not entitled to many thing but keep fighting. Social, non sexual nudity should be a right, most naturists agree and naturist federations and

  • Naturist Thought #97 – Longevity
    by Marc on 6 January , 2020 at 15:38

Many people have been trying to increase human life. Of course, we all would like to live as long as possible in good health. In an article published in Psychology Today and entitled The Naked Truth About Longevity, Prof. Kravitz, from the University of New Mexico reveals the secret of longevity: minimizing stress, maintaining physical

  • Naturist Thought #96 – Heaven
    by Marc on 5 January , 2020 at 15:37

What is heaven for a naturist? A place where he or she can be nude all day long with like-minded individuals. Most naturist places look like heaven when the weather allows to get and stay naked. Hell on the other side is a place where you could be naked but need to be clothed, like

  • Naturist Thought #95 – Escape
    by Marc on 4 January , 2020 at 15:37

There are many places and mindsets to escape: perfect body, conformism and of course, clothing. Naturism allows to escape all three and find a newly found freedom. Naturism is pure freedom for the body and the mind. It allows naturists to escape the tyranny of the perfect body, the shame of “imperfection” and the conformism

  • Naturist Thought #94 – Glow
    by Marc on 3 January , 2020 at 18:36

If you spend a day in the sun without sunscreen, there are chances you will have a red uncomfortable glow, not mentioning the risks associated with such a sunburn. On the opposite, if you have a won the naked run or a beauty pageant, you will glow with pride. I like those words that can

  • Naturist Thought #93 – Ecstasy
    by Marc on 2 January , 2020 at 15:36

No, I’m not talking about the drug (MDMA) but about the sensation, the state of sudden, intense feeling. The one you experience when you undress after a long time fully clothed. This extraordinary sensation of freedom, a true ecstasy. For many nudists, me included, being naked outside, in nature, at the beach, with friends, is
