Greetings from Montenegro

Where? We hear you ask. We have to admit that we had to resort to an atlas when we first heard a friend enthusing about this small piece of wild beauty in the former Yugoslavia. He had been living and working in the Balkan region for a number of years and had decided to buy an old stone house and plot of land for less than the price of a new car. That was in 2006 and at that time Denise and I were seriously considering giving up our high stress corporate lives. Our dream was to forsake it all to establish a naturist business. The question was where? Even after selling (almost) all of our UK based worldly goods we would not have a huge budget to invest, so it had to be somewhere affordable. We had been enjoying naturist holidays for over 15 years and knew that the former Yugoslavia had been a popular naturist destination since the 1950's so maybe the Balkans was the place to begin the search for a new life. We decided to visit our friend in Montenegro and see for ourself if this really was the opportunity we had been waiting for. That was in 2005 and we fell in love with the place immediately. Stunning scenery, low crime rate, friendly people, and no sign of the turmoil the region suffered during the collapse of Yugoslavia and the ensuing conflict of the 1990's. So began our adventure. By May 2006 we had sold almost everything we owned and loaded the remainder into a Ford panel van and were on the road to Montenegro.

.... to be continued.
