I have been a member of Helios in Gembrook for many years, swinging is rife, most of the commitee take part and if you don't take part you are treated as an outcast...

Australia has abundant secluded and glorious beaches where people can easily go nude without offending anybody...noone there to offend lol and so far from road access that law enforcement is highly unlikely. The added bonus is that these beaches do not attract the umseemly behaviour that can tend to occur at the clothes optional beaches from time to time. If there are people close at hand and by that I mean 100metres and there are children in the vicinity I merely put my bottoms on to walk to the water where I then slip them off to swim naked. In my almost 30 years of being an adult I have not encountered any problems and have happy enjoyed nude bathing all over Australia.

My wife and i are ANF members and we stayed at River island over the Australia Day weekend. We were charged a considerable fee and a surcharge for the weekend. We founf the place to be run down and that the spa opened in the afternoon and was closed by 10pm , same with the sauna.
As we walked around the area we saw and elderly white male and his asian female friend engaging in sex with a two males in the forest area near the river.
we later saw another two couples engaged intimatly that evening in the spa.
There seems to be no enforcement of prohibition of this and we were charged excessively not at all recommended. not a resort at all !

I have been going to RINR since I was 2years old. Yes I agree there may be swinger there from time to time but I have never been exposed to it. (I also agree that it is very over priced). The couple of times that suspect characters have poped up they have been swiftly removed from the property as this is a family friendly place and at no time over the 25 years that I have been going down there have I ever seen anyone having sex or taking place in any inaproporiate behaviour. I agree that background checks should be done on people who stay here and they are not. Your comments are alarming and I am horrified and IF indead this did happen it was a one off and if reprted to the owners it would have been taken care of imediately.

My wife and I had a cabin at RI for many years, and while the costs and charges are an absolute rort, very little promiscuity takes place, if at all.

The place is run by a very conservative old couple in their sixties for heavens sake.

We knew of only one (alleged) swinger couple who kept it to themselves, they socialised with the main group but were never overt with their lifestyle.

I agree that RI is an over-priced dump with no planning or management structure apparent, but it's certainly not a promiscuous venue, exactly the opposite.

I feel qualified to make these comments. A place know as River Island in the Highland of NSW puts itself up as a clothing optional resport. This is totally wrong, although it is in a lovely bush setting it is attracting more sex fiends, including those who owned cabins there and the owners doing nothing about it. It has been let run down to the point where sex parties, swapping, open sex visible in the walking tracks and at times around the pool area. It will not be long before someone is hurt or killed as a result of this type of behaviour. We give it a big miss due to the poor administration and the dont care attitude other than anyones money is good, Go somewhere else whish is better run.

I have been many times to RI and yes there is at times couples swinging however if that is a problem to you then don't ever travel overseas as in many countries swinging is very much the norm of an evening infact in place they actually have 3 swingers clubs at the resort.

And yes out of school holidays they have free sex in the open on the beach. If you don't like what you see turn away, please take the blinkers off and understand swinging is very wide spread throughout the world and this practice as been going on for hundreds of years it's not new.

Nudism is beautiful as too is sex both very normal.

This may be true but so has murder, rape, and robbery, just because something has been going on for years doesn't make it right or acceptable.
If I go on holidays I don't expect to be subjected to the sight of two people having sex just because they can't control their hormones or classify themselves as swingers .
Swinging never has been a part of nudist/naturist nor ever will be as long as there are folks out there that love the true nudist/naturist life style. Unfortunately there are those out there that would prostitute the nudist/naturist lifestyle to validate their own pathetic wants and needs and swinging in my opinion is one of these.

You say that "Nudism is beautiful as too is sex both very normal" in the right context that's true, Ballet is also a beautiful thing but you don't see two people onstage during a performance of Swan Lake humping their brains out. If a couple wants to live the swingers lifestyle by all means do so I have no place to judge nor do I want to, but just because they're ashamed don't go calling it by another name just to make it seem more acceptable.

As for getting a life I already have one and a very good one thank-you and a part of that good life is not giving credence to some individual that tells me to get a life just because my values and ideals don't match theirs.

Reading 2 "complaints" about River Island in NSW and all I can say is WHAT A LOAD OF GARBAGE these people have been putting here. I am a regular camper at RI over summer every year for the past 10 years at least. I have always found the resort patrons to be extremely well behaved and the daily rates for visitors are quite reasonable. Very unfair to condemn the management of the resort who are really doing their best on the basis of one or two "suspected" observations of inappropriate behaviour by visitors. I'm sure that these whingers won't be missed if they don't go back to RI.

I have to agree, I've only been to RI once but keen to go back. There are very limited facilities so close to Sydney and they couldn't be running the place for any significant profit.
It is unreasonable to expect management to be able to monitor the walking tracks especially if the incident was not reported. If you think you can provide a better alternative then we'd love to see it.

I went to River Island in 2009 and thought it was a low-key but nice enough place to be. Both Katina and Colin were a lovely couple, and I met some good friendly people there.
With regards to swinging - as long as they aren't killing, maiming or injuring anybody with what they're doing and keeping it out of sight of kids, then what business is it of ours to go judging them?
It's kind of amusing that we complain about society having a low tolerance of us as nudists, yet we don't exercise tolerance and open mindedness to others who support our philosophy of life.
