Carbon Credits Trading

Lots has been said about the trade in so called Carbon Credits which, allegedly, one can purchase to 'off-set' carbon created by one's other activities.

(Ed: to me this sounds a bit like buying penance for one's sins at the local church!)

It is easy to imagine how a large 'dirty' industry could 'buy' carbon credits in the form of subsidies to some, for example, re-forestation initiative and hence appear to mitigate their contribution to global warming.

The individual too, can 'buy' a clearer conscience from some 'Carbon Credits' trading organisation that promises to plant trees to make you feel better about driving around in your carbon spewing 4WD.

It appears the jury is still out on the whole concept of this trade in 'carbon credits' and recent allegations of questionable business practices by such firms have raised suspicions and even more questions.

How does a nudist trade 'carbon credits'? Or do we just get out there naked and plant a tree or two?
