Naked since birth!
I have always preferred to be naked. My late mother said snow or ice would not deter me and the story of a 2yo dancing naked in the snow in a chicken pen is oft retold.
Finding our way to the tropics of north eastern Australia in the late 70s was a dream come true and you would find me without clothes more often than not.
So has vegetarianism been the preferred lifestyle since the birth of my children in the early 70s. Is it not interesting how the added responsibility of children makes you re-examine the important things in (their) life? To maintain that lifestyle has not always been easy.
Now of course, my resolve is strengthened by an awareness of the detrimental environmental effects of all animal husbandry and, more so, by recognising the dehumanising and soul destroying effect killing and processing animals for food has on workers and consumers.
The positive side effects of my chosen lifestyle are many fold and it is easy to calculate the reduction in costs to my pocket and the environment.
How many of you can honestly state that they need to do a load of laundry washing just ONCE A MONTH? Clothing lasts me for years and years because it just sits in the cupboard.
Shoes have a tendency to go somewhat mouldy in the tropics and thus, in my case, require frequent airings as I prefer NOT to wear any footwear.
A sign on the front verandah proudly proclaims that one is entering a 'nudist colony' and friends and neighbours seem to be very tolerant of my lifestyle and, I suspect, maybe somewhat jealous, too. So, don't say you have not been warned... :-)
In later posts I would be happy to discuss other aspects of my chosen lifestyle and answer your reasonable questions, too.
Thank you for your interest,
