Clean Beach Challenge

Submitted by Gerald Ganglbauer on Mon, 23/07/2007 - 10:44

The Clean Beach Challenge is a fun competition, which aims to enhance beachside communities by promoting personal initiative, civic pride and environmental awareness. Through competition and awards, the program provides recognition to people who care for their community and coastal environment.

Mario Conti and I entered Little Congwong Beach in the name of Free Beach Action NSW for the "Community Partnerships and Action Award" - Outstanding community organisation and pride, expressed through civic, cultural and environmental activities, and evidence of strong partnerships between the local beach community (including clubs and organised groups), local business and local councils.

Beach assessing will be conducted the week starting 24 September 2007. Regional winners will be announced in early November. State winners will be presented on 7 December during a morning Sydney Harbour Cruise.
